I'm looking for the ancestry of this family, and to make contact with any
descendants. |
 | Lometa Hite-VARLEY-Stagg, ls-stagg@usa.net. I began climbing my
family tree while a teenager; and it's been an on-again, off-again hobby ever since.
My main interest in Capt John's line is to locate someone who can tell me if/how we are
related to the Pierpont family. My grandmother Meta VARLEY Hite and her
older sister Clara VARLEY Tarr both gave the Pierpont name to a
son. I'd like to correspond with anyone descended from Capt John or related to his
wife Margaret C. West VARLEY. Earliest known ancestor is also John
VARLEY, b. VA abt. 1800, m. Nancy Ann GARLOW. (Capt)
John VARLEY, Jr., b. VA, Oct 1829, m. Margaret WEST Feb
1856. The family lived in Monroe Co, OHIO until 1870's when they also moved to
Grayson Co, TX. Check out her Site
for Capt.John. |

Williams Varley, b. 1945. His father was Franklin Gordon Varley,
born in Salt Lake City in 1909 and d. 1966. His father was Franklin Malcom
Varley, b.1879 and d. 1928 in Pocatello Idaho. So, do you think we
might be related? (6/98) |

Albert VARLEY was my great grandfather. He was the owner of the Albert
Varley Perfume Company, and he sold that business to the Jergens Company makers
of soap and lotions as we know it today. This information was told to me by my
grandmother who still lives in the Chicago, IL area. I would like to find out
more about Albert's family. |

Pennsylvania>California. All the California VARLEYs I am
related to (my maternal grandfather was a VARLEY) are desended from
people who came from Penn. My grand father was from Oil town Penn where I believe
the first oil fields were. He came to work in the oil fields in Kern County CA, near
Maricopa around the turn of the century. My records of him only go back to Penn. |
