Canadian Researchers and Connections
 | Bart M. Wassmansdorf, wass@interlog.com. 2461 Sir Carodoc Lane, Mississauga,
Ontario L5K 2J1 Seeking information about the GLYNN and VARLEY families in Troy.
Michael GLYNN b. abt 1881 and wife Mary VARLEY both lived in Troy between
Adams Street and the canal. Michael was a blacksmith (or became one after arrival). Both
the VARLEYs and the GLYNNs are believed to have emigrated from County Mayo in Ireland |
 | Susan Slater, slatersr@aol.com.
My direct VARLEY ancestors did not immigrate until after the turn of the
centry and then my g. grandfather left England for Canada. I have been focusing my
research in the West Riding Yorkshire area of England. It appears that there were many
Varleys in pockets around that area. My ancestors all seem to be centered in the
Kippax, Aberford, Pontefract, Knowlsthorpe, Wakefield areas going back to the 1700s. I
have communicated with an individual who had Varley relatives in the Spofforth (or
possible Spofford) area of WRY which is probably 25 miles from Kippax. I have also
heard about Varleys in another town in North Riding Yorkshire. E-mail me to share
yours or for more information.
